We all have our loves in life. Some of us love chocolate and movies and dinners by candlelight. Others love things that come out of books and computers. One of the most popular areas of study and topic are the stem academics science, technology, engineering and math. Areas of knowledge that not everyone excels at and a lot of people don't understand. But in this collection of poetry we will address some of the areas of stem academics. In Math is Mathing we focus on the importance and the presence of math in our everyday lives. In Understanding Fear: AI we talk about the Big Bad Wolf that has become AI. And finally, in Periodically we come back to simple basics and play some word game with assistance of the periodic table. Sometimes the best way to teach is to make the information relate to those who are listening. This is a fun collection that may make the reader and listeners sit back and think about just how awesome STEM academics are and what they attribute to our lives.
Joy of STEM Academics
Math is Mathing
1+1= 2
2+2=4
4+4= 8
8+8=16
16+16= 8,934,832
Oh no, what is this
This math isn’t mathing
If I subtract 16-8= 11
Right or wrong
Wrong or right
Oh me- I might be wrong
Oh- my I could be right
If I say it with confidence, does it change the change
With all my knowledge
Through all of these years
All the songs from all the teachers
And here I am with all I know
The math isn’t mathing
A term recently introduced a lingo.
We use it often but never for real math
Real numbers matter to me
Real math is how we have evolved in most areas
Of life
Think of the things we couldn’t do minus math
No math= no computers
No music as beat connects to pace connects to numbers
Requiring count and adding up to math
None of your favorite food- minus measurements
No fab clothes= no measurements
No measurements= no shoes
No video games or gaming at all
Megapixels take math
No calculations = no travel
No travel= my mom would never be able to make it to Las Vegas
With no money to not use to not play the slots that can’t
Exist without the math to make the machines.
Love my mom… she needs her Vegas.
