  • I have exactly 4 hours to bake the most perfect cake, clean up, and get prepared for the party. Four hours may seem like a lot to normal people but I am not a normal person and I'm not trying to accomplish any normal cake. I am a woman on a mission, and my mission is very simple; for my parents 25th wedding anniversary I want to replicate their wedding cake. This is who I am, the kind of person that is going to take on a ton of things when I only have time to do 5 or maybe 6. But last night before I went to bed, I called my mom like I always do and she said she was excited about her anniversary today. I asked her what she was most excited about, and she said that every year her and my dad go to the bakery downtown to have a slice of cake, the same kind of cake they got from that bakery 25 years ago. But this year is going to be different, the bakery closed down, people just aren't doing wedding cakes like they used to.
